- May 9th is the day that, in the past decade, Russia has used not only to celebrate victory in WWII but also to showcase its military buildup and bolster militaristic feelings within Russian society. In opposition to this spirit of militarism and chauvinism, we are instead calling on the world to join together in a single, powerful voice of prayer for Ukraine and for peace on May 9th. Especially now, we need to spiritually unite all people of good will and counter the unhealthy ideologies being spread that support violence.
- Instructions for Worldwide Prayer for Ukraine and Peace on May 9th:
- - At 12 noon your local time, pause for 5 minutes and immerse yourself in prayer
- - For houses of worship: organize prayer for Ukraine gatherings or add this prayer to the existing opportunities
- - For activists and community leaders: organize public gathering for prayer
- We ask you to pray for:
- - All the people of Ukraine, especially those besieged at Mariupol
- - For an end to war in Ukraine and peace throughout the world
- - For the strengthening of all global leaders to act fearlessly to support Ukraine and stop tyranny
- - For the triumph of good over evil and the flourishing of justice
